As much as possible try to book your cruise ahead of time to avoid the rush especially during the peak season because some cruise destinations have seasonal availability. I'd go with booking early. Just because you have enough time to plan everything and maybe pay most of it off. There is a thing called early saver rates that you pay that price but if the price goes down you get the money back. we've never booked last minute but i don't like the idea because there is no guarentee that you are going to get the room you want
